So, I was talking with Leo...and came to find out that only Gen 5 is based on the actual base stats listed on serebii.net.
My thought is that it would help the stats of some of the pokemon (not necessarily all) if pokemon from gens 1-4 had their stats redone to be based off the legitimate bases from serebii.net/the games. Reasoning behind this is that with the flippantly random stats of the pokemon, many pokes are rendered seemingly-useless by horrible bases.
However, my thoughts don't end there. This would still leave some pokemon horribly crippled stat wise. For instance, psychic types w/ the exception of a couple would lose a lot of attack power from this shift, and some specific pokemon have FAR better in sp.atk/sp.def than atk/def.
For those pokemon who have low atk/def stats, I would suggest that a reasonable portion of their sp.atk/sp.def bases be considered for use as their str/def stats ingame. For instance, Ralts and Abra have extremely low atk and def bases, being pure psychic types, but have pretty good sp.atk/sp.def.
Just a thought to make the stats a little more balanced. Yeah, there's people who only want extremely powerful pokemon--and it's not like this change would kill that--but it would prompt more people to use their favorites as opposed to the same bland 6 that tends to occur once people see that their level 100 has 210 all stats while the opponent has 450. lol.

Thats a good idia, but it would make special types of pokemons over powered among the others. Like fighting types for example. Id say it would be better if they added the stats of pokemons differently.Like physic types would have their spl atk as their strength since their spl atk is way higher. Or who have high pl def and low defence,it shifts. If the game had actual moves,id suggest a full stats list but thats a bit far for now atleast.
For some pokemons to be ugly in stats, thats pretty normal anyway.Pokemons like shuckle or caterpie are ment to be bad in stats to go along on how they did in the anime, although shuckle has a very huge defenc,on this game it really wont do anything at all.Seems sad but thats how the game is and thats how it would always be.
Now that some people pick way powerful pokemons, thats very random and is gonna happen every time,no body likes to lose ,some people care more to have fun, some care to only win, some are just good battlers naturally and doesnt matter what they use...but majorly, all of those dont like to always lose,so atleast they'll have one powerfull pokemon like scizor or machamp or something with a very high atk stat.

Yeah, but Abra, and other pokes that are actually strong, suffer b/c of the well...erm...poor way that stats are calculated currently. xD
